Gary Higgins – “Cuckoo” (Video)
This slab’s touted only by dudes with money in their pockets to hunt down dusty originals. Not quite tripe, but Gary Higgins turned in some pretty boring stuff.
The Dutchess & The Duke @ Union Park (07.18.09)
These guys still rule. The new disc isn’t quite as enduring as the first one, but it still makes me feel alright.
Charles Manson Kinda Rules

The crazy nonsense that Charles Manson inspired others to do can’t be excused under any circumstance. But some of his music was really pretty incredible. “Ego” and “Arkansas” are as good as anything outta the ’60s and certainly beat out most of the new angled folk stuffs from the last decade.

Good Shabbos: Bob Dylan x Harry Dean Stanton
Chabad might be one of the creepiest Jewish organizations out there – I know, trust me…no seriously, they’re all freakin’ nuts – but they got Bob Dylan to put on a kippah (that little hat thing) and play the recorder. Good Shabbos and to all the goys, enjoy Friday.
Nicodemus – “Real Tight” Video
This just got sent over by the folks at Prog Not Frog…I honestly don’t know what album this is from, but it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Better Art Music. You, dearest internut geek, can check out Isabel’s YouTube page for more.

Nicodemus Prentdo Discography
How this guy is still around is a mystery. Nicodemus is apparently still active musically, but in case you don’t ever have the chance to see him a partial discography is below…

Ola Belle Reed x Folkways
That brief clip isn’t necessarily representative of what goes on over at Tapestry of the Times, but there’s a bit of Snooks Eaglin. And there aren’t too many things better than hearing that man play guitar.
Shouts to Shane Carpenter for the video.
Jason Molina x Public Television
Jason Molina might not be as important in twenty years as some would think. It doesn’t matter, though. Dude can write a song and works like a farmer. Snagged from We Have Signal and MOKB.

Rodriguez: Coming from Reality

After last year’s re-issue of Cold Fact, Light in the Attic dug up the 1971 follow up. Coming from Reality is out as we speak, so give it a listen even if it’d be impossible to match what preceded it.
Standards: Ramblin’ Jack Elliott

Really, words can’t do this gentleman justice. But he’s 77, tours the States in an RV and is probably capable of out drinkin’ anyone you know – I’ve seen it.
